I wish my nephew Taylor Calibo would have been able to know Gene. He was a graduate of Beach high class of 2009 and will graduate from the Naval Academy in 2013. There are few graduates from Beach high that attened the Naval academy.I an sure Taylor would have loved to meet him and hear his stories.

I am so very sorry to hear of Tank's passing. We went to Beach High and graduated together. My sympathy goes out to all who knew and were touched by him.

Gene was a dad to me. His passing is hard on my family, but his amazing stories and unorthodox look on life keep me laughing even at a moment when most would find it suitable to grieve.

Gene taught me to find the single most important lesson in every defining moment... then turn it on its heels and poke fun of it. This uniquely wonderful outlook helped to shape me as a man and helped give me a huge advantage in my career (advertising).
