Not sure what to say?

Gene was not a relative or a co-worker; he was simply a friend, and an unforgettable one at that. We met Gene and Jim back in 1981 when they still lived in Brooklyn Heights. We met them through mutual friends, but ironically we came to know and care about them more than the people who introduced us!

There are so many memories:

Ah, the Friday night poker! A little bit of dinner at a local restaurant, then 3-4 hours of all different kinds of poker games. Gene was a...

My Uncle Gene was very dear to me and will be greatly missed. Not only was he my favorite uncle, he was my mentor and was like a father to me. He was a good listener and always gave me good advice. I learned a lot from him, especially on how to enjoy life. He knew how to have fun and made everyone laugh. He took me to my first New York disco, my first opera at the Lincoln Center, my first French restaurant, my first High Tea at the Four Season’s. Culturally he exposed to me many “first”...

In a word, "Unforgettable"! Uncle Gene lived his life as we all should, to the fullest! We will always remember the fine food, the fine drinks and the fine conversations that we had with him. We will remember all the fun times: in Atlantic City when he showed us how to play Let it Ride Poker, at my niece's graduation party this summer when he showed up those teenagers on the dance floor!
May he rest in peace and may we never forget get the lessons we learned from him.

Uncle Gene...though he is not my uncle, was everyone's Uncle Gene...a one-of-a-kind, fun-loving guy who always imparted words of wisdom when a situation warranted it....he will be sadly missed by all who knew him....forever in our thoughts and prayers...

There are so many words to decribe my uncle Gene-fun, loving, giving, caring, and so many more. I will miss him so very much. He was such an awesome man. May God rest his soul! I know he will be watching over us forever and always.

We will never forget our delightful and enchanting Uncle Gene. We learned about all of the fine things in life from him: great food, great recipes, great restaurants, how to find your way around New York City, how to get good seats at Broadway plays (and cheap), where to visit in New Orleans and how to have fun.
We can go on and on. We will cherish the days we spent with him forever in our hearts. He was a class act.

My uncle Gene was a unique person. He brought so much joy to the world. I am really glad i got to spend time with him. He will be greatly missed. I'm sure he is with his mother in heaven now, watching down on us. I will love him always.

Uncle Gene was funny, kind, loving, a fabulous cook and an amazing person. We always loved spending time with him and will miss him very much.

My uncle Gene was a very fun guy and he brightened up every family get-togther that he attended. I have a lot of wonderful memories of him and I will miss him very much. I know that his mother is taking care of him up in heaven.
