He was the most insightful person I have ever known in regards to politics, whether that was politics with a capital P or small p. At a young age he would discern, he was not always right!, the maneuvering of various politicians on the national level. He would predict who would run for President for the Republicans and for the Democrats. His choice was that individual who he felt would be best; the candidates' popularity was unimportant in terms of his selection.
