Eugene "Gene" McCloud, 54, of Detroit, a native of Lakeland, Florida, a U.S. Navy veteran, and Supervisor of all boiler room engineers in the Detroit Public Schools, has passed away. Visitation took place on Friday, May 26, 2000, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., at the Northwest Chapel of Wilson-Akins Funeral Home, 17500 Fenkell, Detroit. A family hour took place on Saturday, May 27, 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., at Metropolitan Church of God, 13400 Schaefer Highway, Detroit. Further visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 2, 6-8 p.m., at the Tenth Street Church of God, 801 West 10th Street, Lakeland, Florida. Homegoing services are scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 11 a.m., at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 West Webster Avenue, Lakeland. Local arrangements entrusted to H.W. Oldham Funeral Home, Lakeland.
