I often find myself thinking about Eugene and deeply missing his friendship. He was the reason many of us in our USC cohort felt comfortable and safe to be ourselves. His genuine talent, sensitivity, listening ear, and warmth continue to inspire me on tough days. I keep a photo of him above my desk, and when I'm struggling with my creative projects, looking at his smile reminds me to keep going and that the stories we tell are important and will resonate with more people than we might realize.
