I don't know if there was a reason for this not being mentioned in this otherwise fine obituary for a wonderful talent, but back in the dark ages I was privileged to watch Gene as part of Cashman, Pistilli, & West in the Village in NYC. They were an amazing trio---truly one of the best and I will always have a warm spot in my heart for Gene. My smpathies to his family and all the many others who loved this guy.

Everyone in Fairview and Cliffside Park who knew Gene was proud of him.
A local kid with great talent was a rarity among
blue collar folks surrounded by embroidery factories and bread stores.
Rest in peace Gene.
