Dear Eugene:
You were such a friend to us, and I can only remember you with love. You helped us raise our kids: Matthew, Beth, and Joel, and you were always there with your peaceful presence for me when I needed just to sit and BE. Your wry, subtle humor was a later development, and we all got a quiet kick out of it. Your smile, when it came, could light up all of our hearts. Gene, you have loved, you have been loved, and now you have gone to the greatest love at all. We will miss you...

It was my privelege to be Gene's Home Aide for many months a couple years ago. He was a delight to work with and will be very much missed. May God bless and keep his eternal soul.
