Not sure what to say?

I met Gene and Elaine in the 1960s in Springfield, Illinois. The sound of laughter accompanied Gene as his wit was his constant calling card. As a child, I was fascinated by his tank of piranha fish - "uglier than sin" is what he called them. His joy of life in Christ was contagious and I look forward to seeing him in Heaven one day! - Jan Bolin Vroegindewey

It's been 3 years ! We still have such fond memories of living on beach street raising our young families! Thanking God for your friendship with you and your lovely wife and my friend Elaine! RIP my friend!

Condolences from Kay Vanderbilt, the Bill and Betty Stewart family and Greg and Susan Campbell family. What a time of rejoicing for Gene as he is now in the presence of our dear Lord and Savior - to enjoy Heaven. And to those still here that someday you will again be with him - what a blessed hope we have!

Gene was a wonderful friend to us. We met Gene and Elaine at Calvary Assembly. We grew in our faith and they were great encourages to us. We have remained friends through the years and Gene was always generous and kind and caring. He loved Jesus , his beautiful wife elaine and of course his children. He always talked so highly of Mark and Michelle. He will be missed...rip...your forever friends Dwight and Virginia Wickersheim in Arizona

Gene was a wonderful big brother to me. He was my protector. I have so many good memories of our childhood. I will miss you and your daily words of encouragement that you used to email to so many of us. I'll see you someday up in heaven. I'm so glad we had a good visit in July. Lots of laughs, great memories and hugs. Love you lots, your little sister Annette

One of the highlights of my life was knowing Gene Polino. He was one of the most brilliant people I ever knew, and had a tremendous sense of humor. I briefly worked for him at Calvary Assembly, and he blessed all our lives. If God ever needed a great administrator, he now has one in heaven.

Gene and Elaine were the first of a small group that befriended Kurt and I when we accepted the Lord. Their kind, loving, generous examples of Christian values have never been forgotten. We will miss this man - his passion and servanthood for God, his family, and his friends spoke volumes to those who knew him.
Our prayers go each day to Elaine, Mark, Michelle and their families. May Gods peace be with you.

Gene was not only my brother, but he was a good frient.......loving, generous, sincere, honest and most of all he loved and served his Lord and Savior. I will miss him, and our phone conversations. He prayed daily for our whole family and I could ask him to pray about ANYTHING, and I knew that he would.
I will miss him very much, but my only solace is that I will see him someday in Heaven.
I love you Gene.

Gene was not only my brother, but he was a great friend......loving, caring, generous, honest, and best of all, he was a man that loved His Lord. I will miss him very much and miss our phone conversations. I could always count on him to pray for ANY situation and to pray for our family.
My only solace is that I will see him someday in Heaven.
I love you Gene.
