Not sure what to say?

Gene Rosewater Gene and I met in the early 90's. We were the same age and we shared a lot of the same interests. He was gracious, open, positive, generous, and cared about people, which made him easy to get to know. He was a great example of Non Violent Communication, before we even knew about NVC. Gene was an avid skier and instructor at North Star and I was lucky to join him on the slopes for over 10 years. We enjoyed meals, playing games, and socializing at his home in Tahoe. ...

I worked for Dr. Rosewater for 24 years starting in 1971. He was a good and respected man. I remember when he returned from a skiing vacation and all his assistants and myself filled his office with inflated balloons. He was so surprised. So sorry to hear about his passing and I´ll keep him in my prayers.

Such a gentle soul. He and Aly were superbly mated.

It was great being with Gene and Alyssa for their visit to Cleveland He was one of the smartest people I ever knew I learned a lot working in his office We became good friends

I met Gene in his later years. He was proud of the amazing art & furniture that he had made. The creativity and quality of his work was truly outstanding, reflecting the energy and creativity of this wonderful man. He was fortunate to have Alyce as his loving partner and devoted caregiver in his sunset years. May we all know compassion and caring for those of us who are taken by dementia, and for their caregivers.

I knew Gene and Alyce over a 15+ year period at Tahoe with many computer tutoring sessions that inevitably extended into an invitation for dinner. And what dinners!! Even the spontaneous ones were amazing but for the real "dinner parties", they would spend several days in the kitchen producing elegant, multi-course dinners deserving of a James Beard award. After dinner there were card or other mind-challenging games with great conviviality. Always a highlight was seeing Gene´s amazing,...

Gene´s beloved partner of many years, Alyce, was our neighbor in downtown Portland. We met Gene a few years ago. Our favorite memories with Gene include the time we spent together in Palm Springs over a couple of winters. Alyce preparing unforgettable meals, Gene being his delightful and charming self, there was much laughter and they always made you feel welcome and loved. Gene had a special connection with my partner, Joan. As his ability to communicate deteriorated, it was very clear he...

As many have commented, dinners at Aly and Gene's home in Carnelian Bay were stupendous and all enjoyed the games that followed. One particular memory stands out when we journeyed to an event in Reno to celebrate the election of President Obama. There were wonderful cardboard cutouts of him that we were able to take home. I still have mine. Memories of more hopeful days. Rest in peace Gene. Aly will treasure those decades of wonderful memories.
