Eugene Sawyer

I liked Eugene Sawyer a lot. He was a great mayor at an interesting time in Chicago history. Condolences to his family and friends.

Gene and I were room mates at Alabama State University. I have not seen since those days but have fond memories of him. I was unaware of his passing until coming across this obituary. May he rest in Peace.

I met you through my sister who admired and respected you and I two feel the same way you will be greatly missed, Dolores Fox.

TO THE FAMILY BE AT PEACE BECAUSE EUGENE SAWYER HAD A GREAT MISSION IN LIFE AND FULFILLED IT.HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN AND HE HAD STYLE AND GOT THINGS DONE FOR THE CITY.PEACE BE STILL,SO MAY IT BE.

Eugene Sawyer was the greatest man I have ever worked for. He was gentle,fun loving and a man of his honor. You will be missed. May God bring comfort to the Sawyer family during this time of grief. My prayers are with you all.
