Jane & Family

Gene was a "Class Act and one of my mentors. We also were "buddies" as you put it, because both of us had the good fortune to fly the B-747 and always had a lot of "war" stories.

He encouraged me to become a member of the Naples Flying Club with him and together we had several long cross country flights to Immokalee and Marco Island, without even getting lost.

At our last QB meeting, we had a special toast for Gene. At the memorial service, the...

Prayerful condolences and thoughts, to your family, at this time of Gene's passing, a gentleman, in every way.

Aunt Jane, we miss Uncle Gene already and will forever cherish the enjoyable memories, laughter and great stories from your last trip to Minnesota.
Love, Paul and Kim Buechele

I thoroughly enjoyed conversing with Gene on projects and then working with him to implement them like the creation of the Lorenzo Aviation program and the Collier County Airport Authority system of airports. He will be missed but his finger prints will remain forever on South Florida's aviation system.......

My thoughts and prayers to the entire family. The word gentleman pretty much sums up the discription of Gene. I enjoyed working with him for many years. Wishing Gene a smooth flight west.

Dear Jane, we at Lorenzo Walker are so saddened by this news. We all loved Gene and his many stories! I never saw him without a huge smile on his face! He is the reason we have an aviation program. His love of all things having to do with airplanes will live on because of his passion and willingness to give of himself! What a great man! One of a kind! He will be very deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Although I never had the chance to fly with Gene I always enjoyed running into him somewhere, sometime, someplace. On a layover or in the training department. He always seemed to have a warm smile on his face and was glad to see everyone.
I bet God smiled when Gene waklked into Heaven !

Gene was a first class gentleman. He flew a particularly notable flight with me during an event I described in a book I wrote.

I considered it a deeply humbling honor that he wanted to participate and his presence made the occasion even more unforgettable.

He always had a special place in my heart and I'm sad that he's left us. I send my thoughts, prayers, and warm wishes to Jane, his children, and everyone else close to him.

Godspeed, Gene...and Blue...

Dear Jane: I worked with Gene many times over the years at NWA. I can't recall a finer man to fly with. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
