Eugene Martin Schmidt

Unfortunately I just found this obituary out of the blue, I'm so sorry this message is so late, but I worked with Gene at AAA Hudson Valley, he was a wonderful man, very caring, very sincere, a great sense of humor, and so very intelligent! I always enjoyed listening to his stories about his past job and the places he used to go, and his extreme detailed knowledge of the model trains that he worked on with such precision, I am certain he is missed beyond words, and I, for one will miss him...

I worked with Gene at the NYS Department of Health Bureau of Biometrics. He had a great sense of humor. I recently saw him while I was working my parttime job at the arena, and I made a point to say hello to him, and I thought, he looks great. So sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age. Rest in Peace Gene.

I worked with Gene in the NYS Health Dept. He was a hoot to work with. Spry sense of humor and always flashing a wry smile. Spent many hours in the field with him. What an intelligent dedicated worker. So innovative in solving problems as they came up. His love of his job and dedication to doing the best he could was an inspiration to all that worked with him. I so enjoyed time with him as so many others did as well.

Gene was a dear man who we loved to spend time with. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and he really appreciated the people in his life. We will always miss him. Our thoughts and prayers for comfort are with Priscilla and their children. We are so glad that he was our brother-in-law.
