Not sure what to say?

So sorry to hear of Mr. Schmidt passing away, my prayers go out to his family.
Mr. Schmidt was one of the nicest teachers anyone could hope for when you were a kid. He made science fun at Alan B. Shepard in Deerfield. Plus, I got to work with him later on at Marriott's Great America way back in the day when he was a seasonal supervisor. Fun times. RIP Mr. Schmidt.

Sgt. J. R. Matta, Retired

I just found out of Gene's passing. He left an indelible mark on me and my teaching career. Though he was a veteran teacher at Shepard when I started at the young age of 21 I always felt a bond with him - maybe because I too worked at Great America (although I was a peon and him a supervisor). I will never forget some of the practical jokes he played - usually with his partner in crime Terry. I remember them borrowing the principals new chair that Dante was so proud of and I will never forget...

Its a tremendous thing when someones name is spoken and the reaction is a glowing smile and a warm heart. Evoking your name in a conversation has that effect on all who knew you. You are missed my friend...and you will always be loved. Go Pack Go!

Sending our prayers and thoughts to the Schmidt Family. May you find peace in knowing Gene is reunited with Rita and in God's arms enjoying eternal happiness. Sorry we couldn't make the trip to the funeral.

So sorry to learn of Gene's passing. Sending love, prayers and hugs to all of you.
