Mr. Severson recruited me to participate in the YMCA Oregon Youth Legislature in my sophomore year at Wilson. I continued that in my junior and senior years, and I loved it. Many fond memories of him at Wilson. He was kind, thoughtful, and a wise teacher. May all your memories of him be blessed.

Gene was a wonderful, welcoming, fun loving co-grandparent. We will miss him so much. We became fast friends with Sue and him as soon as our kids decided to marry. We four supplied the genes for our three amazing grandkids. Love you, Gene, missing you already. Safe travels.

Gene and Sue were instrumental in helping me find my way back to Christianity. I hope the family is blessed with laughter from shared memories in the coming weeks. Fondly, Janet Lowrey (Metz)
