Sending my love and good wishes to the family in this time of grieving. Uncle Gene was a kind and gracious man. Among many other family memories, I especially treasure the time I was able to spend with Pat and Gene while I was in graduate school in Madison, WI living far from my own parents and siblings.

Gene was my godfather and a loving, active Uncle Gene to me and my siblings. I will miss his quiet warmth, quirky sense of humor, keen intelligence, and addiction to Solitaire. My heart goes out to Aunt Pat, Paul, Charles, Catherine, Elizabeth and Emily.

I had the privilege of getting to know Gene while he was a volunteer at Career Resource Center in Lake Forest. I saw him every week from 2009 until 2016 when he retired from CRC. He was a true gentleman. It was an honor to know someone so intelligent, full of integrity, and kindness. He also made us laugh at the office with his good humor. He will be missed. My condolences to his wife Pat and the entire family.
