Not sure what to say?

I am trying to figure out if this is the very kind officer that worked at Western Hills High school in the 70's. If he did he befriended me while other were mean to me. I loved him like he was my father.

What a cracker jack ....... quick with a joke ........ a fine friend and boss. He will be missed.

Gene live next door,we would fight just like kids do,but we were really good friends through life.Mr Mrs Charles collins (Betty Rich) He will be miss.(I will miss the phone calls).

My dad, Bill Stinson, worked with Gene. Dad was the SRO at Woodward - I heard "Simpkins" stories all the time! Imagine the get together they are having together now talking about old times!!! I'm sorry for your loss, though, and I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Gene was a kind and caring man. When we added to his clown collection, he had tears in his eyes. We miss his auctions and now we will miss him.

Gene, may you rest in peace. One of CPD's finest! Sympathy & Condolences to family & friends.
From: Cincinnati Police Detective; (Retired) -

When I was assigned to the evidence and property room I found that among my duties was a semi-annual auction. It had in the past, been handled by the property room commander. Well, a man's got to know his limitations and I knew that my abilities as an auctioneer where not up to the task. So, I asked the Chief if I could have it professionally done maybe increasing the revenue a bit. The request was granted and I called Gene. He gave me some pointers on pre-auction advertisement, locations...

Great fellow Officer, I took over for Gene at his job when he retired at the Central Crime Prevention Unit on the second floor at 310 LPD. Gene always became Santa around Christmas in Dst. 1 at all of the schools. He loved doing this so much that he had his own Santa Suit. He will be missed by everyone. Tom Mcalpin
