Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathy to your family. I always remember Eugene as a great guy. A smile on his face and a friendly hello. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

As every fortress needs a solid foundation upon which to rest Eugene C Smith was the foundation for our family. A foundation of wisdom, leadership and strength. As every city needs a blueprint to grow Dad was our families blueprint. A building plan based on truth and honest moral values. A pillar of support that would hold through the worst of storms. Strong enough to support the family and give back to the community what had been given to him. My Dad was a kingpin, a keystone in an arch of...

In the early years of our GardenER'S Club we members were very fortunate to know Gene and enjoy him and his wealth of knowlege which he so generously shared. As we garden each and every one of us will be reminded of him always, and be forever grateful. Thank you Gene, you'll be missed.

Eva and family - Sherwood and I are truly sorry for your loss. You were a great couple and always very friendly and helpful to everyone. A sad loss but may the peace of the Lord, family & friends ease your burden. Sending this from Melbourne, Fl. Dawn Richards

There aren't words to properly describe the loss I am feeling but I am thankful to have had such a great man as my father. You taught us how to love, to look for beauty in the simplest things in life and to take time out to enjoy them. You were my best teacher.

Oh my, such a loss! Gene will be sincerely missed by all who knew him. To Eva and the kids - Let your pride in this good man outweigh your sorrow. Mary and Erlon Mason

If yard equipment broke, Gene was quick to offer a loan of his. When a hot summer afternoon of yard work left us both hot and tired, his screen porch was the perfect place for a cold drink -- which he insisted on providing. In the Ice Storm of '98, he went the extra yard to make sure his hand-operated well pump was thawed out every day...

Mom (Gloria Harrison) and I are very sad to hear of your loss.
