Eugene "Doc" Tedder, age 80, of Daisy, died Monday, January 8, 2007.
He was born on December 19, 1926 at Daisy, the son of Teabie Layton Tedder and Myrtle Jane Whisenhunt Tedder. On December 3, 1952, he was married to Ima Draper Tedder. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Josh Tedder; four brothers, Billy Tedder, Odean Tedder, Freddy Tedder and Rex Tedder.
Mr. Tedder was a member of the Daisy Church of Christ and 1947 graduate of Daisy High School. He was a World War II army veteran and was discharged as a sergeant major. He served in the Army Reserves from 1950 to 1953. He was the former owner of the Daisy Store and was a retired union boilermaker. He was a charter member of the Boilermakers Local Union #69 and a member of the VFW Post #9778. He adored his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to auctions.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ima Tedder of Daisy; four sons and daughters-in-laws, Eugene Jr. and Vanessa Tedder of Langley, Keith and Debra Tedder of Star of the West, Klint and Sheila Tedder of Dierks and Eric and Carmen Tedder of Dierks; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Devin Owens of Amity; ten grandchildren, Todd Tedder, Brett Tedder, Corey Irvin, Lacy Hartman, Keeley Tedder, Jessica Tedder, Keasha Owens, Andy Tedder, Hope Tedder and Luke Tedder; three great-grandchildren, Bailee Tedder, Blake Tedder and Layken Tedder; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Irene Fraser of Hot Springs, Joy Turner of Lodi and Carol and
J. D. Woodall of Daisy; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 12, 2007 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Ed Coffman and Harold Vaughn officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. .
Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Todd Tedder, Brett Tedder, Devin Owens, Michael Langley, Scott Funderburk and Scott Woodall.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandson, Andy Tedder, Luke Tedder, Black Tedder and Kenny McGrew.
