Eugene Watson, 60 of Tiptonville, Tennessee died on Monday, March 17, 2014, at his residence. Born Wednesday, October 14, 1953 in Ridgely, Tennessee, he was a retired correctional officer with Northwest Correctional Complex. Mr. Watson was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and friend. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and animal lover. He was quick witted, kind hearted and generous beyond measure. These are just a few qualities that describe this great man. Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday at the Church of God of Prophecy in Ridgely, Tennessee with Bro. Clayton Mahan and Bro. Joe David Watson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Church of God of Prophecy in Ridgely and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until service time. He is survived by his wife with whom he shared almost 20 years of marriage, Freida Myracle Watson of Tiptonville, Tennessee; one son, Jason Eric Watson of Guntown, Mississippi; one daughter, Holly Michelle Mumford & husband Robert of Ripley, Tennessee; a Step-Daughter, JeJuan Jones and her husband Bobby of Decaturville, Tennessee; his mother, Peggy Ward Watson of Ridgely, Tennessee; one brother, Bro. Joe David Watson of Jackson, Tennessee; four sisters, Charlotte Chamberlain and Sherry Callens both of Hornbeak, Tennessee, Tammy Woodell and Sheila Taylor both of Ridgely, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jayden Michelle Watson, Robert Eric Mumford and Thomas Matthew Mumford, Kyle Emerson, Michael Hyatt, Joel Jones and Jeff Jones. He was preceded in death by his father, David "Pug" Watson and a brother, Danny Watson. Pallbearers will be James "Bubba" Hilliard, Artie Lynch, Johnny Dean, Lonnie Vaughan, Terry Kirk and Harris Work, II.
