Eugene Franklin Whitehead, 73, of Carnesville, Georgia, a veteran of World War II who served in the U.S. Army and Air Force, and an Assistant Postmaster in Stone Mountain, Georgia until his retirement, died at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta on the morning of Thursday, August 10, 2000. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 10, 2000, 7-9 p.m., at Ginn Funeral Home, 90 Church Street, Carnesville. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 11, 4 p.m., at Cross Roads Baptist Church, 16095 Highway 59, Carnesville, officiated by the Rev. Michael Bell. Burial will be at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, but those wishing to do so may make memorials to Cross Roads Baptist Church, 16095 Highway 59, Carnesville, GA 30521.
