I loved Gene Winters. He was my friend, coach, and protector in High School. He always had my back and always made me feel special whenever in his presence. I would probably not made it without him throughout High School. Whenever I felt down or overwhelmed, he would allow me to come sit in his office and just relax and feel better. He was a true gentleman in all the senses of the word. Say hi to Clarence Moore, Mr. Galiardi, Blair Brown and all the rest you are now coaching.

I SPENT 4 YEARS AT FAIRVIEW (65- 69) IN FOOTBALL AND GYMNASTICS WITH COACH WINTERS.HE SET A FINE EXAMPLE OF HOW TO BE AN ADULT AND A LEADER . HE COACHED WITH HIS SENSE OF HUMOR. HE WAS EASY GOING YET STRICT.I HAVE NEVER WANTED TO DO MORE FOR ANY TEACHER OR COACH.

I was saddened to here of Coach Winters passing. He was a huge influence on my life. I don't think I would have made it through high school, if he had not been there. I graduated class of 68 Fairview. I carry a part of him in who I am and I know others who feel the same.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Winters. He was a teacher of mine at Cornell Heights and at Fairview High School in the sixties. He was a wonderful man and has always been at the top of my favorite teachers list!

I was so saddened to hear about Gene's passing. I pray that God will keep His loving hand on you and your family and comfort you in your time of sorrow. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
