As an instructor, Gene Wissler opened the eyes of a generation of undergraduates to the molecular basis of Transport Phenomena, and inspired us to emulate his way of looking at problems. I was fortunate to work with him as an undergraduate research assistantan experience that truly changed my life and will always be appreciated. If I had to sum up his nature in one word, it would be wise.

We shared many happy times with the Wisslers and have great memories of visits and travels with Gene and Pat. We have known them since 1958 when we were all new to The University of Texas in Austin. So many years and experiences in Austin and Colorado. He will be missed by many friends and family and our special condolences are extended to Pat and her lovely family.
