To Jeanne's family,
Our annual Christmas card to Jeanne returned today because it was "not deliverable". Trying to find out why, we googled and discovered what had happened to her.
We are deeply shocked and saddened .
Rick, our long-time Boston friend and collegue, and Jeanne visited us half a year before Rick died.
It was the first time we met Jeanne in person. We spent two very happy days together. Through her warmth, kindness and deep...

From overseas to Jeanne's family - We just tried to send a Thanksgiving message to Jeanne. Not having her email address handy, I started to google and found out. Though we did not maintain verry frequent contacts, on occasions like this we'd be in touch. We are shocked. The two of us remember with fondness the kind, energetic and warm person Jeanne was. We'd come to know her well as our long-time friend from Boston Rick Letz, Jeanne's late husband, became ill. We cherish some very special...

To Jeanne's family - My husband Josh and I are now the lucky owners of Jeanne's old house on Virginia Avenue. From the minute we met Jeanne, we were amazed by her warmth and generosity. She made us feel right at home in what is now our home. There will always be a wonderful history and piece of Jeanne in our home for years to come. Every night, we enjoy the amazing kitchen that she designed and built while she lived here. It is now a source of love and comfort in our home - Thanks to...

To Jeanne's family--I was one of Jeanne's college roommates. We shared a room with two others, Betsy Beebe and Eileen Enabnit, in Taylor Tower at Ohio State. My friendship was rekindled years later when Jeanne had the lead article in the New England Journal of Medicine. I was very proud of the significant research that she had accomplished, and the recognition that she was receiving. I am a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist in California. I send my condolences to you. I hope that you...

Jeanne was my God Sister and from early childhood she was my idol. It doesn't seem fair to have such a brilliant full of life woman be taken so tragically. I remember the giggles, overnight stays on weekends watching scarey movies late at night, picking blackberries, family vacations. The memories are flooding upon me. I always expected to have Jeanne around when we were old. I am so proud of Jeanne and what she accomplished in her life. She is definately in Heaven watching out for all...

Jeanne was a loving, bright, energetic spirit in this world, who will be sorely missed. Our heartfelt condolences to out to her family and all who knew her. The world is a colder place without her. Join me in praying for her and her family.

My thoughts and parayer's are with the Calle family during this most difficult time.

I was a first year teacher at Copley Junior High School and had the privilege of having Jeanne in my seventh grade honors language arts class. She was in a class with many bright, highly motivated students.
Even though I was their teacher, I learned a great deal from them.I thought about that class over the years and even though it has been almost 45 years since I taught that class, I always felt that each of them would be successful in life and would contribute to the betterment of our...

My prayers are with the Calle family. Both Rick and Jeanne were my colleagues when I served on the faculty at Emory University School of Public Health. They were beautiful people. I had gone to their home for holiday parties, when Rick served as the chair of my department. This world will never be the same without them. I pray for peace in our city, nation and the world.
