Eugenia Foster

Dear Foster Family, I have so many fond memories of your mom since we both started teaching at East Coloma the exact same year. She was our revolutionary who made sure EC had a teachers´ union and was always part of our negotiating team. Beyond teaching together we formed a close friend relationship. I adored your kind,easy going, intelligent father and had the pleasure of seeing Jenny,Mary,and Joe grow up. Besides your mom watching my Matt as a newborn(now 46) Mary was our babysitter...

I was a teacher while Eugenia was the principal at St. Mary Elementary and Jr. High in Dixon. She always supported me as a leader, and I eventually did become a principal at the same school. I learned that a good leader seeks out the next leader. Thank you, Eugenia.
