Eunice F. (Gagnon) Delaney a longtime resident of Reading passed away December 25, 2016 at the age of 89 after declining health. Born to Francis and Stephen Gagnon on October 17, 1927 in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Eunice attended St. Clements High School, Boston University and the Boston Conservatory of Music.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Francis Delaney, Jr. Together they had four children; Stephen J. Delaney of Reading, John R. "Jack" Delaney of Bedford, NH, Mark D. Delaney and his wife Donna of Wakefield and the late AnnMarie Hoffman formerly of Lynnfield. She was the sister of the late Raymond Gagnon, loving grandmother of 9, great grandmother of 3 and mother in-law of William Hoffman of Lynnfield. In her passing she will be reunited with her daughter she loved so much. Throughout her life Eunice enjoyed traveling, golf, music, Wednesday Bridge games, numerous lifelong friendships and time spent with family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 29 at St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St., Reading at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at Wood End Cemetery, Reading. A visitation will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (Corner of Woburn St.) in Reading prior to the Mass from 9-10AM.

Eunice has given me fond memories to hold in my heart. I always enjoyed chatting with her. She had become my connection with the Delaney family - keeping me updated with all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's activities. How proud she was of everyone in her family!
