Only those of us old enough to remember Pearl Harbor know how different it was in those days. In spite of World War II, it was an enchanted time in our lives. The cabin dwellers in the upper Red River "Clearing" have a bond hard to describe. No electricity, no plumbing, seven miles to the mail and telephone sound like no fun but it was.
