Not sure what to say?

When I opened my GRPS email today and saw the bereavement notice, I was taken back a bit; Eva was such an amazing mentor--a positive force. We lost touch as I jumped from school to school, and changed from English to History as my teaching subject--but she has always been a guiding force in how I approach mentoring others. She listened, she gave her advice, and she smiled and laughed. She will be greatly missed.

One of the most incredible and influential teachers to work within the GRPS system..... It was truly a blessing to have taken her classes as her student as well as receive her encouragement and consistent challenges to 'reach higher'; I only hope that students nowadays are able to have such incredible educators within their classrooms. God bless and keep Mrs. Matthews' family during this time of transition.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

Eva was a joy to work with. She loved teaching and learning. I am sorry she has left us to keep up her good works.

I had the honor to have Eva as a teacher/friend for some independent study courses years ago. She was smart, funny and had a heart of gold. Beautiful person inside and out. My deepest condolences to her family.

Deepest condolences to all of the Mathews-Gillespie families. Eve was always a smiling bright light. She will always remembered for her dignity and grace. Comfort, hope, strength, at this difficult time. Peace, blessings, love.
