Eva "Ruth" Beckwith Spence

I was 8 years when my lifelong friend, Jim Spence's family moved to Edgewater Park, near where my family lived. Jim and I became such good friends that we joined the US Army together and were stationed together for the first 1.5 years of our service. Ruth became a second mom to me. She also provided the motivation and invitation to attend her (St. John's UMC) Church. That invitation led to a lifetime of over 40 years service as a United Methodist minister.
