Not sure what to say?

I was truly sorry to hear of Evan's passing. Me and my three sons lived at 725 Kennesaw Court where Evan and my son "KJ Shortt" attended Kempsville High together. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. Always keep God close and he will see you through this difficult time. Be encourged that Evan is in a better place and is wrapped in the arms of Jesus. Stay strong!

Mr. Collins and family,

I am truly sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you & your family during this difficult time. God is with you and your family, he is there to comfort and heal.

God Bless!

I remember seeing Evan pulling his boat on a trailer by hand past my house in the heat of the summer before he got his driver’s license so that he and his buddies could go fishing. I never saw if they actually caught anything, but it was obvious he loved to fish, anyone willing to work that hard just to get the boat to the water. He was a great young man, I am so sorry for your loss.

Evan worked as a mate on our crab boat one summer. He was a hard worker. He was always so kind and such a sweet kid. He will truly be missed by Capt. Les and Ms. Becky.

I first met Evan when I worked in the cafeteria at KMS. He was one of the staffs favorites. Later in his 8th grade year he moved to my neighborhood and I would see him first riding his bike around then driving. He always said hi or waved to me. Evan was a special sweet heart who always had a smile on his face. He will be truly missed. My prayers go out to his family. -Jill Brown
