Not sure what to say?

We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this holiday season and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Evan A. Marshall US Army Corporal.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made...

Evan and his family still receives our upmost respect and gratitude for his sacrifice this memorial day and everyday.

Forever in our thoughts. Forever in our prayers. Always with us.

To the family and friends,

I served with Evan in Bravo Company, 1-8 Infantry during Iraq from 2005 to 2006. He was a good person who had strong character and a good heart. He will be missed.

To the family and friends of Spc. Evan A. Marshall:
It has truly been my honor to sign Evan's guest book these past few years. Unfortunately, due to complications from my Multiple Sclerosis, this may be the last message I'm able to write. Please forgive me and know that Evan will always be remembered in my home.
With love and respect ~ Peggy

When things ahead seem difficult and the road seems a rough one, I think of Evan, his bravery, his devotion to God, and the way he lived his life to help others. He is such an inspiration to me.

Shelia and family: My thoughts are with you often but more so on this memorial day weekend. We have great respect for Evan and your family. I saw a sign the other day that said freedom is not free it is won. I disagree I think it should say it is earned instead of won. It is sad to see so many citizens think that freedom is their right and they have no idea even why they are free. The sacrifices your son and family has made should be recognized every day. My thoughts and prayers are with...

I have been struggling with some difficult issues lately. I had to get up early this morning and prepare for what I anticipated as another tough day. For some reason, while searching for an email in my archives an email popped up where Evan's father sent me a youth sermon Evan wrote in 2003. I read the sermon. It changed my whole outlook on the day ahead.

I don't know why this popped up as I was not looking for it at the time. However, I know there was a reason it did. It...

I am currently working a case with someone in our agency, Sgt. Scott Underwood. He and his wife had a baby and they named him after an American hero. Sgt. Underwood was there to help the day Evan came home. His little son's name is Evan Underwood. What a tribute. We all hope and pray he grows up to be like his namesake....caring, determined, upbeat, and always thinking of others before himself.
