Not sure what to say?

I am sorry for your loss. I deeply respect Evan Maurer campaigning for free admission. I remember his kindness even meeting him briefly at AIC as a child.

I truly miss his blessed soul and am grateful for knowing him

Noah Maurer sent me an email minutes ago sharing info on Evan´s passing. I worked with him closely at UMMA and truly respected him as a mentor and friend. He encouraged me and many of my colleagues to be our best selves and follow our dreams in the art world and beyond. He will be greatly missed.

I was a student of Evan's in 1971, at MIA. I was honored and privileged to be in his afternoon class in the Urban Arts program when I was a senior in High School. He generously spend his time with 6 of us, teaching Curatorial Arts. He gave us daily lectures in all the areas and eras in the Museum, taught us art analysis. I am sad to learn of Evan´s passing. I work at the Mart Collective where he made frequent visits. I feel blessed to know him & learned from him. He was a kind soul & I think of him as a friend rather than a customer. I have been missing him. Sincere condolences to his family

I met Evan when he was director of the Minneapolis Institute and I was the art critic for the Omaha World-Herald. He really woke up that museum and did some wonderful things there. He was especially passionate about free admission, making sure the museum was open to everyone regardless of income. I did not know him well, but I very much respected him and what he accomplished.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
