Over 20 years ago, I attended Evan's Funeral (Dewhirst & Conte) and waited in the long line to pay my respects. The first thing I saw was a video showing Evan as a little boy. Then when I saw Evan in his uniform, and his fellow soldiers standing by him, it reminded me of my own recent loss of my youngest son Richard, who also was born in April like Evan. I was given a prayer card with Evan's photo on it. Afterwards, I got to meet Evan's Mom and Dad, and I told them I was a retired army NCO...
