Evelyn Lorraine Bishop (Tootie, Mimi) was granted her angel wings on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the faithful wife of 56 years to Willard E. Bishop who pre-deceased her in 2010.

Born in Weld, Maine, she was the daughter of Atlee and Edythe Conant. She was raised in Gilmanton, by her Aunt Faye and Uncle Lee Savage. She was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Her interests included family, gardening, swimming, and cooking large Sunday dinners. She devoted much of her time and energy to caregiving for family members and friends in the community. She would take them to appointments, help them with grocery shopping, and visit with them on weekends. Nearly all weekends and most of the summer you would find her home filled with her grandchildren and their friends, swimming and eating fudgsicles by her pool in the backyard. She seemed to have an endless supply of treats. Everyone always felt welcome at Mimi's house.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Valerie Parker of Concord. Her three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren, Candace Tibbets of Pittsfield, her husband, Bruce and her two sons, Tyler and Kyle Stockman, Casey Bolton of Pittsfield, her husband, Keith and their son, Parker Bolton, and Courtney Booth  of Auburn, her husband, Kent and their two daughters, Kaitlyn Turner and Mercedeez Booth. She is also survived by her brother Bertron Conant of Daytona, Fla.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willard Bishop, their beautiful daughter, Vanessa Bishop, and her favorite granddaughter, Carri Parker.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 27, at 3 p.m. at Floral Park Cemetery, Pittsfield.

Donations may be sent in her name to the American Cancer Society, a cause dear to Evelyn's heart since the loss of her daughter, Vanessa to cancer at the tender age of 10 years old.

Not sure what to say?

Val, my condolences for the loss of both of your parents. We kept in touch by Christmas cards until I moved a few times and didn't catch up. I just searched your Mom's name to see if they were still at the same address and found this news. They were dear people that I remember with love. My prayers are with you and your family.

My condolences Val - Evelyn was a great neighbor years ago on South Main. She and Babe were wonderful people and it sounds like they fully enjoyed retirement years with their grandkids.

She and Babe were such good and kind next-door neighbors to us for many years. They are well remembered in our family.
