Not sure what to say?

Evelyn was a special lady, she portrayed a quiet genteel nature. Her husband Gerrit was my cousin, and we also resided in Decatur. I am praying for comfort for Evelyn 's family.

I got to know Evelyn through quilting. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She made the most beautiful hand quilted masterpieces. I am glad I was able to spend time with her throughout many years of quilting together.

We were neighnors of Evelyn when she lived on Lake of the Woods in Decatur and played with her kids - that's how I knew her. She was a kind lady and her love of God was always evident. I remember the bell in their yard they would ring to call the kids home. May she rest in peace.

We lived in the condos across the street from Evelyn when she lived on Quail Cove Drive. She was a wonderful neighbor and we often had nice chats sitting outside when the weather was nice. She was very proud of her great grandchildren and often told us "Eli stories." She would also share her homemade baked goods with us- my husband Chris was fond of the coffee bars she made! Evelyn was a truly special lady- we will miss her.

My prayers for peace for Evelyn´s family during this difficult time. Garrett was a first cousin to my husband, Larry. We lived in Decatur when we were first married before moving to Arizona. Spent many a Sunday after church (for coffee and a cookie) at Garrett and Evelyn´s. Larry worked for Garrett at Broekhuizen´s produce. Lots of great memories.

Condolences to the families and friends of Mrs. Broekhuizen.

So sorry for your loss, your mother was a very kind lady. Always Sherry Creagan DeLoach

Evelyn was part of our ladies tennis group and we enjoyed many years of friendship and fun. Our Sympathies to all the family. (Bobbie Rex)
