Not sure what to say?

Miss Davis was my Grant Junior High School Music Teacher 1969 - 1971. I remember doing a report on Ludwig von Beethoven Middle School and kept in contact with her as a colleague. My condolences to her family and friends.

I will never forget the influence she made on me with music. Such a beautiful soul.

It's been a year since Miss Davis met God in heaven. I think of her often. As my teacher, she was a great inspiration. As my friend, she shared her love for books, & gifted my family with a Christmas Annual for many years. I recall the one year that I used many of the Annuals in preparing for Christmas traditions, in my teaching & concert, for Christmas. I hope to enjoy these books for years to come & pass them on to my dear children & grandchildren. Evelyn Davis lives on in what we do,...

Still missing you. <3

I fondly remember her as a great teacher and will be missed

I had the pleasure of meeting Evelyn as a member of Onondaga County Retired Teachers Association. She was such a dedicated and well organized treasurer and membership chair for our organization. She had a wealth of historical knowledge and loved sharing it. Caring thoughts are with you as we share this sympathy. May Evelyn forever live on in our hearts.

My heart is weeping for the loss of my dear teacher, friend, mentor, Miss Davis. We met at Grant Jr. in 1958-59. I was a member of the chorus; my husband was in her music class. She was a spectacular teacher, and especially of that middle school age group. I love music & it was a huge part of my life & my family. Miss Davis would invite me to join the audience at SSO rehearsals, while she was at practice. We would go out to dinner & being one of 5 children in the '50s that was very...

My dearest friend in music and life -- a caring person. We were sisters in Sigma Alpha Iota --from our college days. Augusta Cecconi-Bates

I am incredibly grateful to have spent the last 15 years with Evelyn. She was a favorite teacher in middle school and became a favorite friend over these past years. She didn't love having her picture taken and avoided it when she could, so I'm very thankful to have this beautiful photo to share in her obituary. It was taken by a Cracker Barrel waitress 7 years ago at a surprise 80th birthday lunch attended by her friends Mary Buske, Kathi Hawthorne, and Kathy Margray (we are, of course,...
