Not sure what to say?

Ms. DeVries was such a lovely lady. I was a faculty waitress and was shown much respect '48-'50. Mr.DeVries was kind in teaching Drivers Ed/ simple auto mechanics and in securing a car for serving as Director of Christian Education in West Virginia and in Mississippi They both filled a deep
void in my life , when I needed it the most. I will always be grateful to them. Betsy Gibson Stone Olive Branch , Mississippi

Sad to hear of a lovely woman passing away, and the same day as her friend Evelyn Jones. Both women were at Warren Wilson when I was a student there, 1957 to 1959. I worked in the dining room where Mrs. DeVries served as a hostess, and I was an ill with the flu student who got great care from Miss Jones. The world was a better place for these two women having lived. Melus R. Dickinson , '59

Ms. DeVries was a great lady, "Coach" was in charge of the work crew that I was assigned to and Ms. DeVries would have the work crew over for cookies and punch, she knew a lot of us were homesick and new to college life. She was always nice to us at the Post Office. She will be missed. John W Shepherd, Class of 58

Evelyn DeVries molded so many people as did her wonderful husband Sam over the years while at Warren Wilson. The impact will not be fully known as most of us never really share how people changed our hearts and our lives like the Devries were able to do so in such ways that impact one forever. For sure, Evelyn Devries has her Angel wings and is organizing all who will listen.
A wonderful lady.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.
