Ms Evelyn was an inspiration to many women. She was our cousin and neighbor in Hattiesburg. When my Mother passed away in 2002, Ms Evelyn was there to offer her support. Ms Evelyn was truly a great lady and will be missed.

Im sorry to hear that Ms Evelyn has passed away. My grandmother was Wilma Gandy from hattiesbrug. Ms Evelyn was a very nice and great person. she will be missed.

My mother was Dorothy Ada Gandy, a cousin of Evelyn Gandy. I helped plan a family reunion with them years ago, in July, in Hattiesburg. There were family members from Montana and California.Her cousins in Pensacola, were Louise, Dorothy, and Edwina Gandy, all deceased. I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Miss Evelyn Gandy. She was a great lady and I had the great honor of meeting and talking with her at great lengths. She will be truly missed.

Miss Gandy was one of the most gracious Southern ladies I have ever had the privilege of knowing. When I first moved to Jackson in the early 1970s, I worked for the Insurance Commission when she was the Insurance Commissioner. She was a great servant of the State of Mississippi and will be missed.

Miss Gandy was a great southern lady. She will be missed.
