Mrs Gunn has always been held in the hearts of me and my family with such love, respect, admiration, and appreciation. I am now a 57 year old surgeon who was quite shy when Mrs. Gunn taught me in 1st and 2nd grade Greenaway Drive Elementary (split classes). She was so encouraging and warm and a phenomenal teacher. We kept in touch for many years and had the privilege of visiting her home.When people ask me who was my favorite teacher, with all my years of education--I can easily single her...

I am saddened to learn of Mrs. Gunn's passing. I had the privilege of visiting with her several times over the past two years. She always captivated me with her stories and made a great impact on me. She was an inspiration to more people than she probably even knew! She has been in my thoughts heavily over the past few weeks.
Heaven gained a true angel and her wisdom that she so graciously shared remains here on Earth.

Mrs. Gunn was my all time favorite teacher. I had her at Kensington Ave. school back in 1956. Sixty years later she remains in my memory. A truly lovely lady.

She was my teacher at Greenaway, I loved her, she was a very special person. Sorry for your loss.

Sixty-one years ago Evelyn Henderson was my teacher at Kensington Ave. School. Some years later, I was so fortunate to teach with her at Greenaway Drive School.

In recent years, I once again had the good fortune to spend time with Evelyn. I will miss our visits, conversations, and lunch outings.

Mrs. Gunn was a beautiful woman inside and out.
I know she is with God.
