MOUNT ZION - Evelyn Hanneken, 81 of Mt. Zion passed away at 10:31 a.m. May 30, 2011 in St. Mary's Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2011 at Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with services. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation or Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Evelyn was born March 2, 1930 in Ramsey, IL the daughter of Orville and Rose (Shumaker) Hayes. She married Paul Hanneken on August 14, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1986. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Surviving are her sons: Jerry Hanneken and his wife Vickie of Mt. Zion and Mike Hanneken and his wife Gayle of Mt. Zion; daughter-in-law: Brenda Hanneken-Edwards of Naples, FL; brother: Noel Hayes and his wife Eula of DeKalb, IL; sister: Loretta Weber of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive. We were so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a wonderful person and we enjoyed visiting her in Mr. Zion. She talked so fondly about her family. My mom loved her like a sister. She was so good to our Uncle John.
