Evelyn Marie Hare

MAPLETON - Evelyn "Marie" Hare, 56, passed away Nov. 1, 2010, at her residence. She was born Sept. 14, 1954, in Houlton, the daughter of Leon and Doris (Martell) Hogan. Marie married Raymond Hare Jr., June 16, 1979. She worked as an editor at Burrell's Clipping Service, Presque Isle, for 20 years, and worked at Friends Market for two years. She loved to crochet, cook and visit with family. Marie was a member of Mapleton Baptist Church and was involved in church activities. She always did for others in a quiet way. She enjoyed gathering with friends at Mapleton Pizza House after church on Sunday. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Hare Jr.; her daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Hare, both of Mapleton; her mother, Doris Hogan of Houlton; three brothers and their wives, Joe and Harriet Garnett of Minnesota, Mark and Patty Hogan of Old Town, and David and Lisa Hogan of Houlton; four sisters and their husbands, Jeannie and Jerry Flewelling of Monticello, Cathy and Chuck Schmiedel of Corona, Calif., Lynn and Kim Vail of Havelock, N.C., and Vicki and Andy Hagerman of New Limerick; a brother-in-law, Gerald Hare of Linneus; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends. She was predeceased by her father, Leon Hogan; her mother and father-in-law, Raymond Sr. and Emma M. Hare; and a brother-in-law, Michael Alan Hare. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Mapleton Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Phelps officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.
