Evelyn Vivian Harris

Evelyn Vivian (Swenson) Harris, 97, died at Perham Living, Perham, MN, on Saturday, November, 26, 2011. Evelyn was born on February 2, 1914, to Charles and Selma (Johnson) Swenson, at home in rural clay County, South Dakota. She attended a rural grade school and graduated from high school in Vermillion, South Dakota, in 1932. Evelyn became a Registered Nurse, graduating from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa, in 1935. She held several RN positions throughout her career. On November 25, 1937, Evelyn married Edward Harris, in Beresford, South Dakota. They had two sons, Craig and Michael. Craig passed away in 1970. Her husband, Edward, passed away in 1990. In 1995, Evelyn moved from St. Cloud, MN, to Perham. She lived at the Hammers Apartments for three years and then moved into Briarwood in Perham. Evelyn resided at Briarwood for twelve years and then moved to the Prairie Knoll Household in October of 2010 where she resided until her passing at 97 years of age. Surviving Evelyn is her son, Michael (Cheryl) Harris, Richville, MN; three grandchildren, David (Edith) Harris, Sartell, MN, Edward (Jennifer) Harris, Ardmore, OK and Sarah Harris, Waite Park, MN; five great-grandchildren, Erik, Jason, and Emma, of Sartell, MN and Zachary and Madison, of Ardmore, OK, as well as two step-great-grandchildren, April and Breanna Cox, of Ardmore, OK. Preceding Evelyn in death is her husband, Edward; son, Craig; her parents; four sisters and one brother. The family requests no flowers be sent, please.
