Not sure what to say?

I, too, was lucky to meet and regularly visit with Evelyn at the Lexington home--while my Mom was also a resident there. Upon finding out she was Italian, I asked Evelyn if she'd cooked all the really good Italian food at home---and, for a second, all the saucy bravura went away, and she said with such a warm, sincere smile, "I hope I did!" She had great spirit---even in adversity. She kept saying she wanted to go home---and now she is---home.

I hope your memories will help you through this difficult time. I will always remember her dancing with my Auntie Bina at my parents 40th anniversary party. They were quite a pair. She was a spunky lady and we will miss her. I am sorry I could not attend her services.

Auntie Evie always added a laugh to a party. Watching her and my Auntie Bina dance at weddings was always a hoot. When we were kids, I remember how she always made us cousins feel special with the most girly, unique, Christmas gifts. And, memories of playing the slots at Auntie Evie & Uncle Ed's will always be close at heart. May this brave good woman rest in peace.

I ONLY HAD A BRIEF ENCOUNTER WITH EVELYN IN THE EARLY PART OF THIS YEAR WHEN SHE & MY SISTER INLAW DOLORES BECAME FRIENDS AT THE LEXINGTON HEALTH CARE FACILITY, I THINK SHE WAS A VERY BRAVE & ENTERTAINING WOMAN, YOU ARE SO LUCKY THAT SHE WAS IN YOUR LIVES. GOD BLESS HER.
