Thank you, Mom, for teaching me what love is and knowing what would love do now?

My mother was a woman of deep faith which began as a child in the Baptist Church. She memorized the Scriptures which stayed with her throughout her life. When she moved her family to CA her father, on fire with his new faith, invited her to embrace Catholicism, which she did. Victor and she were remarried in the church and they helped build St. Lucy, Queen of Apostles and St. Thomas of Canterbury Churches. She became a religious educator teaching classes for her own and other children in her home. When women were invited to proclaim the word of God in church she did that and then became a Eucharistic Minister bringing communion to the home bound and hospital. Her light was recognized when she was in high school and a couple in the church wanted to give her a scholarship to a Bible college to become a missionary. She chose instead to attend UNH where Victor (my father) was a student. Her faith took action in the service she provided to those in need. Using her gifts to bake and share what little she had. She kept up a relationship with many through writing letters where she would encourage and express God's love. At times she seemed to be aware of things that could only be known through Divine Inspiration and would reach out in love to help or show that love in unique and unexpected ways.

To the family of Evelyn Pozniak. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. May the wonderful treasures fill your hearts and bring you peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. 2 Thessalonian 2:16 & 17.
