11/09/1931 - 09/23/2025
Evelyn Gimbert Drake Shelton, 93, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 23, 2025. A Virginia native, she made Houston her home for 62 years.
"Ebo" will be dearly missed by her daughters, Lynn Drake, and partner Michael Fields; daughter Donna and her husband, Steve Anton; grandchildren Alicia Simmons, Drake Heller, Max Anton, Eli Anton and Abby Ketron and families; stepdaughter Janet Shelton Nelson and family; 11 great-grandchildren; her brother, Clement Gimbert, his wife, Flora, and their family. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Don Drake, and her second husband, Charles Shelton.
Evelyn treasured beaches, beautiful music, painting watercolors, and gathering with her children and grandchildren, for whom she was a strong example of wisdom, faith, humor and "scrappiness."
A memorial service will be held on November 9 at the family's home.

John and I were talking about your mom and wondering if she were still alive. I´m deeply sad for you all but hope she passed away without a lot of pain. She meant so much to both of us. She was amazing in every way! What time will her service on the 9th be? Love to all, Nancy Beane
