81, of Amherst, NH, formerly of Tarpon Springs, FL and Scituate, MA, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH. Mrs. Silva was the wife of the late Robert S. Silva, an engineer and veteran US Naval Officer. She was born in Stoughton, MA and lived in Scituate for 35 years, then Florida for 10 years, and recently returned to her native New England. She loved family gatherings, and excelled at interior design. Her five children were at her side at her passing, and survive her: Robyn B. Fernald and her husband M. Bruce Fernald of Abington; R. Scott Silva of Amherst, NH; Joy E. Silva of Amherst NH; Stacy L. Swanson of Milford, NH, and Christopher A. Silva and his wife Corina Silva of Hanover, MA; and by former daughter-in-law, Marie Silva of Chelmsford, MA. She had seven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Bette Simmons and her husband Elmer Simmons of Palm Harbor, FL, and by several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 12:00pm Monday at The First Parish Unitarian Church of Norwell, 24 River St., Norwell, MA by The Reverend Victoria Weinstein. Burial will follow at the Cudworth Cemetery in Scituate, MA. There are no visiting hours.
