Not sure what to say?

Evelyn was a very special person in my mom's (Ruth 'Evelyn' Kozak) life. My first memory of her is as a itlle girl in Kalamazoo Michigan. Evelyn visited us and was kind enough to give me a pair of her high heels for my drees-up box. This was particularly thrilling because she had little tiny feet and I had never played in high heels that 'almost' fit me! I can still picture those shoes some 50 years later! I also had the privilege of visitng her a few years back with my mom and was in...

Evelyn has been a mentor to me for many years. I cannot remember my earliest contact with her, since she helped with the care of me, as a newborn. Having lived miles away, there were many years that I did not have the physical contact, but letters worked and in the later years I was able to see her on a yearly basis. Her name was used as my middle name, Evelyn. I have been proud to carry that name. I followed her footsteps and became a nurse. I know that all those close to her will miss her...

To Mimi and family:

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Auntie in person, I feel as though I "met" her through you, Meem: she must have been one heck of a woman and lady and left one wonderful legacy for all of you. How blest you are to have had her for so long. God speed, Auntie, and God bless all of you.

To the family and friends of Evelyn: I never had the privilage of meeting Evelyn except by letter and telephone conversation. She somehow got a copy of a book that I self published last April "Hope and Healing, A Nurse's Story". She purchased more books from me than anybody. She was such an encouraging lady and my regret is that I never got to meet her face to face. Many times when I didn't sell a book for days, she would send me a letter and a check asking for more books. You were lucky...

I am sorry to hear about Evelyn's death. She was a special lady to the Trusel boys as we were growing up in Slippery Rock, and continued to stay in touch with us. My deepest sympathy to all of the family, and I wish that I could make the trip to Slippery Rock to pay my respects. Please advise me if there is anything I can do for her family.

Sorry we are not in Slippery Rock right now but want you all to know Our Love and Prayers are with you all. Evelyn had a special spot in our hearts and sure gave her all to the men of Armco when she worked there. A very special person who will long be remembered Our Deepest Sympathy

Violet and Carol,

We are very sorry to read of the passing of your sister and aunt. Although we can not be in PA at this time, please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Violet,John and Family,I met Evelyn for the first time on my return visit to PA and had a delightful visit at her home. She phoned us to express thanks for a 95th birthday card which we sent.I was in contact with her via emmail on one occasion before she left her home. I cherish my brief acquaintance with her.

Dear Vi and Family,

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of your sister and Auntie. I will never forget how she thought of me when I was sick with the mononucleosis and Bell's Palsy. I am thankful I had the opportunity to know her. She will be greatly missed by many. You are in my thoughts and prayers as always.

In God's love,
Linda (and Jim)
