Dear Donna,
Because your Mother...and YOU..were blessed with such marvelous sewing skills; I became your grateful client...long ago, now...while Evie and David still lived on Ledge Road, in Cumberland. I see that your "little guys" are now married...so that's the excellent passage of time. And Evie was such a "pistol" as I called her...with so many talents and such warmth and generosity to neighbors and friends...no wonder she lived to be 98!

Dear Donna and Tom, I was so sad to see the notice in the paper of the passing of Donna's mother. When Donna would share news of her mother, one could always sense her love and admiration for her mother. My deepest condolences go to Donna and Tom Downing and all of Mrs. Thurston's family.

Evelyn was a faithful volunteer on the doll project of the Friends of Maine Medical Center for many years. The group met at my house once a month to sew, stuff and chat. We all felt that we were doing something to help the kids. Evelyn gave me an oxalis which I still have today and I think of her every time I water it. My sympathies to all of her family.
