Family-Placed Death Notice

WELCH, Evelyn EVELYN H. WELCH Evelyn H. Welch, age 90, passed away January 14, 2012. She was born in Atlanta, Ga. to William L. Hornsby and Mary Hornsby. Her family continued to live in the Atlanta area the remainder of her life. She was married to the late Lewis A. Welch, Jr. for 65 years. Mrs. Welch was a stay at home mother during her childrearing days. Later, she worked for 10 years as a bookkeeper for her sister Ella Herren at her business, the Herren Candy Company. Mrs. Welch taught a young women's Sunday School class at Sylvan Hills Baptist Church during the 1950's. During her life, Mrs. Welch enjoyed bowling, decorating her home, traveling with her husband, and being with her family. She was currently a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Ga. Mrs. Welch is survived by her son and daughter-in law, Lewis, III and Betty Welch of Williamson, her daughter and son -in-law Suzanne and Michael Evans of Fayetteville; grandchildren Chris and his wife Tracy Evans, Julie Clements, Sandi Welch, Stephen Welch: great- grandchildren Chase and Morgan Evans, Riley, Zoe and Presley Clements; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Gloria and Julius Rainwater of Conyers; several nephews, nieces, cousins, and her special caregivers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Ga. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in College Park, Ga. Mrs. Welch was a lovely lady and a good friend to my mama when she was living at Azalea Estates. She was always so sweet and thoughtful. I know you will miss her and treasure your memories.
