“He was a content man.” Jake

Everett Earl Cole died suddenly August 31st at his home in Derby Line. “Mike” was born April 3rd, 1939 in Westmore, VT to George and Thelma Cole.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda, of 47 years and the following children. Connie (David) Montague, Tim (Tina) Cole, Gayla (Dan) Gosselin,, Tracey Cole and Jeff Poulin, Michael and Rhonda Cole, James Leithead and Brenda Cole. The following grandchildren, Cole Montague, Ashley Montague and Jason Clark, Jennifer (Matt) Garneau, Lauren and Chad Cole, Roger, Jake and Alyssa Gosselin, Samantha and Zakary Leithead, Joshua and Anthony Cole. A great- grandson, Dakota Clark.

Mike loved all of his family very much but Samantha had a special place in his heart as she grew up in his home.

He is also survived by the following sisters, Charlotte (Clair) Dane, Shirley Bowen, Elaine Cole, by one brother, Alan (Pat) Cole and their families. He is also survived by a sister and brother in law, Elizabeth and John Nadeau and their two children Holly and Glen. Who shared many special times with him. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Robert Cole.

Mike had so many friends who thought he was amazing. Work was his passion next to his family as can be seen by the hours he put into his home after working a full week. Mike learned his work ethics early in his life growing up on a farm. He worked for Malcolm Pickel before starting Cole & Webster Inc. with Eugene Webster in 1967. Over 20 years they built many homes and businesses in the area. In 1995, he went to the Burlington area and worked first for Gosselin Inc. then for the last 10 years he has been a valued and loved employee of S. D. Ireland.

He developed a passion in his travels home for yard saling and bought many “antiques” and lovingly repaired them. “Have you got a place for this?” was a favorite question of Mikes.

There will be no calling hours or funeral. A memorial service will take place Thursday September 6th at 1:00pm at the Church of God on the Crawford Road in Derby with Reverend John Genco and Pastor Larry Wall. The family will be available 1 hour prior to the service at the church for those wishing to offer condolences. There will be a luncheon served immediately following in the church Fellowship hall.

Not sure what to say?

Our heartfelt sympathies to the entire Cole family, and especially to Everetts immediate family.
Everett was my cousin and although I did not have much contact with him in recent years I have fond memories of time spent when I was a kid, with my cousins at the Cole family home in Westmore.May God be with him and watch over him.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Mike was a kind man, who raised a good family.

Lynda and family, so sorry to hear of mike's passing. Kim and I enjoyed the nights at the Longbranch serving you and your family. Mike was always very kind to us and friendly. Lynda and family,
Our hearts are sad for you today to learn that Mike has left his "home on earth".
It's a GREAT photo in the "Free
Press" of our kind and gentle friend. It's no time for regrets,
yet we wish we had spent more time
together. Your friendship has always been valued.
We plan to see you at the
memorial service on Thursday.
Our heartfelt sympathy and love,

Tim,
I was sorry to hear of Mikes passing. I remember Mike best for his smile and whitty responses every time he stopped by the job site.
My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

We share your grief on Mikes' passing. Fondly remember his building both houses on the hills and the times we shared. We still talk about the Christmas duck. Our deepest sympathy...
