Part of me believes this is still a bad dream and you're just serving in Iraq still...
ever since junior high you always watched out for me and had my back. When I was the "new kid" you took me under your wing when no one else would talk to me. When I was in trouble some how you always knew, and you always came. You are the bestest friend any of us ever had. Skip only had "best friends". I'm so grateful for those last couple weeks when we hung out almost everyday. Sitting in the truck...

I went to Iraq with Shook and spent many hours talking about life and lifting weights. He was a good kid and a good Soldier who will be dearly missed. I am so sorry for your loss.

Please accept my most sincere condolences on the loss of SGT Everett H. Shook Jr. The family and I will be praying for the Shook family. Unfortunately for us who are left behind, the answer to prayer was not the one we were looking for. Only SGT Shook truly knows the Glory of the Heavenly Kingdom as he has been "promoted" to eternal bliss.

The Gatto Family's deepest sympathy is offered to SGT Shook's family during this time of sorrow. We shared our table, home, and lives with SGT Shook while stationed with him in Bamberg, Germany and we are better for it. SGT Shook was a man of great strength, both physical, and of character. He was also capable of immense warmth and compassion as well.
We will miss his smile and his ability to make others smile.
May you find peace.

My deepest sympathy to the parents and all of his family.
Sgt. Shook worked at the Command Group at the US Army Garrison in Bamberg, Germany, as the driver for the CSM and the Commander. Since I work as an admin.assistant in the same office, I did get to know him pretty well. He was a very responsible young man and at the same time tried to make us laugh and feel good as soon as he stepped into the office each morning. All of us loved being around him.
I'm deeply saddened by this news...

I didn't know Skip all that well, but I did go to school with him and was blessed to have a few classes with him. He always seemed like such a fun loving, strong spirited young man who tried to live life to the fullest. I don't think I ever seen him around without a smile on his face and putting smiles on the faces of everyone he was around. He will be strongly missed and my prayers are with the friends and family that new him better than I did. I wish I could have had the chance to know...
